Setting up a MuOnline server today can be a nightmare. The scene is full of fake developers, leaked files with backdoors, and scammers who sells you free files and disappear after a week (or after you send the payment). If you are looking to start your project, you need to know the reality of the market before losing your time and money.

The $50-$100 "Complete Server" Scam

Many fake "developers" promise a "100% complete and ready-to-play server" for just $50 or $100. It sounds amazing, you pay, and then the nightmare begins:

• "Oh, you want to change CashShop? That is $30 extra."
• "Ah, you need the PvP balanced for Season 6? That is not included, send me $50."
• "Aha, changing all general settings, shops and event timers costs $40, yes dude, only $40 and we are ready"
• "Web installation? Launcher? Another $20, friend."

In the end, you waste weeks arguing, your server is still a broken Frankenstein, and you ended up paying $200+ in 4 different parts anyway.

The worst thing you can do is compare real options, pricing, and services with this kind of "premium services" that are only trying to get your attention with an offer "you can't let go."

They will always be in a hurry to close that deal. They might insist and send you more videos and more screenshots to convince you, and that is when you are done.

These "service providers" exist only in your chat window. You don't have a website, a portfolio, or any other way to verify their information except for the screenshots they choose to send you.

Suddenly, someone in a random WhatsApp group, social media community, or live stream comment tells you: "I know a guy who is really good, let me send you his contact." In most cases, it is the exact same scammer using a fake account to fish for victims.

Remember, you can always use search engines and AI chatbots to ask for references. They might not tell you everything, but they will tell you everything they know—whether it is good news or bad news.

The Honest Numbers: What Does it Really Cost?

A real, stable, and professional MuOnline setup requires hours of manual configuration, testing, and proper files. There are no miracles here

What will you need to start a real server?

• MuServer license "files" (can be rental or owned)
• VPS + Website (where you install your files and a site for it)
• Launcher Autoupdate (you don't want to send a patch every time for users to update)
• Configuring the whole server (yes, muserver licenses are not configured by developers, someone must do it)
• Antihack (to minimize cheat usage even if you can't assure a 100% coverage, it's better to have one)

So, those are many things to do or receive for just 50 or 100 bucks, don't you think?

• Basic Professional Setup: Starts around $200 USD (depending on the version you want, complexity, and specific service needs). This pricing for complete solutions is based on a RENTAL license. There is no chance you can own a license with full setup included if you are paying that price. It can only be a server config setup too, without a license or VPS, if you are building something up to a Season 6 version without customs.
• Premium/Custom Projects: Can go up to $600 - $700 USD if it involves paid licenses or complex custom developments. This can be just the configuration service—for example, if you are working on or planning a Season 20 or Season 21 server—or a complete package for Season 6 servers where you OWN the license. Keep in mind that real license prices for Season 6 Custom Emulators are already around $200 to $300 USD alone.

In my case, if your version requires a paid license, you pay exactly what it costs. If it uses a rental or free system, I include it in the work. No hidden fees, no surprises, and no sudden extra charges.
